- Test drive vehicle. Remove and re install four wheels to inspect brake condition. Check brake fluid level and perform brake fluid test ( moisture & copper content). Inspect entire system for leaks, pad thickness, rotor thickness and calipers performance. Brake Inspection Report Test Drive: Unable to perform full test drive due to right rear tire separating and severe metal-to-metal contact from the front brakes. Brake Fluid Condition: Brake fluid test FAILED (moisture & copper content above specification). Rotor Measurements Front Rotors: Metal-to-metal contact — rotors below serviceable condition. Rear Rotors: LR: 0.8728 in RR: 0.8818 in Minimum Specification: 0.803 in Rear rotors currently above minimum spec. Brake Pad Measurements Front Pads: 0 mm — metal-to-metal contact on both sides. Rear Pads: 4 mm — recommend re-inspection at next service or in 3 months. Findings Confirmed grinding noise caused by front pads at 0 mm and rotors worn into metal. The vehicle was test driven with the customer and no noise was heard. All the suspension was inspected for play and loose bolts and found the driver side sway bar link slightly lose. The bolt was tightened and there is no noise at this time. It appear as in the struts were recently replaced unable to inspect upper strut bolts with out a tare down.
